The A14 is a 2 lane dual carriageway, the only problem with it is that it gets clogged up with lorries and caravans! FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

From Milton Keynes across to the A1 (Black Cat Roundabout) is dual carriageway A412 (Bedford South bye pass) then it is a short hop north up the A1 to St Neots. It is probably a little shorter going A14 then A1 south but there will not be a lot in it. |

If you are into old planes you should run down the A1 and visit the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden - they have a lot old pre and post WW1 aircraft there, in fact if you remember the film "Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines" a number of those aircraft are in the collection. |

Why the heck anyone from 'the North' would want to stay at a campsite in 'the South' is beyond me ....... unless it was an overnight stay for heading out to Europe (or Devon/Cornwall).

We’re going to a cl in Macclesfield for 5 nights (the best cl I’ve ever been too) then heading down to st Neots to surprise my mate as it’s his birthday.
