On contacting LR and Continental re UHP replacement (on my car I have 3 and for some reason best known to National tyres a UHPe)Continental said these 2 tyres are different and should not be on the same car, well done National. I have just replaced the two rear as at only 30.000 they had perished (probably power wash at dealer every time it went in) Continental advised me that the UHP are not made any more and advised Continental Sport Contact 5 FR XL LR 235/55 R19 105W SUV as their replacement, These have been fitted and so far are quite good but even though the EU coding gives their noise level as the same as the UHP they are most definitely noisier. Will have to see if they last as long as the originals. |

I use Good Year Wranglers, they have never let me down and they are reasonable to buy. I live in the Scottish Highlands and they took me through my first winter with my FL2 with no problems. |

I replaced my OEM Contis with Avon ZX7 - second summer season now and thus far, nothing to complain of. They are quiet (as far as big 4x4 tyres are ever going to be quiet) and sure footed. Fairly low summer only mileage so longevity is the unknown quantity but assuming a decent wear rate there is nothing that makes me wish I'd bought differently.

When comparing the tread patterns of various tyres, I always think that the Pirelli ..Verde has more snipes to get rid surface water and stick to the snow. They are my preferred tyre, quiet, grippy, and reasonably long lasting.
