You might find that you'll need to take them out again to adjust the aim. Mine were far too low so I wound them up two complete turns of the adjuster. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE |

Do you have to take them out to adjust aim, is there no small hole at the front to insert a screwdriver/Allen key or whatever? Regards

I removed them. Three screws isn't too onerous. Mine are genuine Valeo. The adjuster is on the back of the lamp as you can see in this photo.

Aha yes, that’s what I thought the adjuster would be like (like many others) so they can be adjust from the front with a screwdriver, but obviously not if LR didn’t put the hole there! Regards

Sorry to add to this again, but looking at the Powerful site with the genuine LR parts it looks like you can just pop out the bezel to get to the adjuster rather than the whole lamp......is that what you meant? Regards

I have the genuine cross bars but the cheaper rails. The plastic covers never fitted properly, especially the rear covers, so I stuck them in place with some black tape. I thought the front plastic covers were reasonably ok & hadn't stuck them on. Lost 1 of the front covers & had to buy a new set of plastic covers which was not cheap. Put a sticker inside the windscreen with the overall height of car & bike as a simple reminder that you have a bike on the roof. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device! It will be lower than my last car which was a Discovery 2. Bikes on the roof of it measured 3.1 metres which was great until I came to a railway bridge in France which was also 3.1 metres. I had the caravan on too. Didn't risk it and had to do a mega reverse to be able to turn round. All good fun. Less fun was trying to find a car park in Bordeaux that would accommodate said Disco - even without bikes on the roof. Most car parks are underground, dug out of the rock and max 1.8 m high. Drove around that bloody city for nearly 2 hours trying to find a space. Nearly came to divorce Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Well the Freelander just motors on doing its thing reliably, although have had to order new tail gate switch as it started unlocking itself randomly. Naturally since ordering the switch it hasnt done it again but Im sure its only a matter of time.
