So for a few more days, here's the old and new side by side.
Disco is off to my parents place at the weekend for some TLC, a new headgasket, MOT then up for sale Big Cry
I will miss the old girl after 11 years but thoroughly enjoying the F2 Thumbs Up

Well in the way of these things, getting the D2 sorted and back on the road took longer than anticipated, mainly due to the Censored weather in the new year and not wanting to work outside in the snow! But back together it all went and running fine. Passed its MOT without issue and my wife actually drove it for a week as we had forgotten her own car was due MOT. Advertised it for sale and it sold last weekend (for almost £2k more than the thieving Censored dealer was offering as a trade in).
It was strange seeing it drive away for the last time but Ive enjoyed it and hope new owners do as well!
The Freelander has clocked up 10000 miles in the 6 months Ive owned it and been faultless, except for an irritating squeak / rattle in the rear which I believe is either a rear seat or a piece of trim, certainly nothing unduly worrying or mechanical.

I have a genuine oil filter sitting ready for its first oil change, just need to pick up some Millers C1 oil.

Today I finally ordered all the lovely bits and pieces to retro fit it with front fog lights (Powerfuluk) and do away with the cheap looking plastic blanks that fill those spaces at the minute, I'll pop up a few pictures when I actually get around to fitting them.

Just ordered this. Been promising myself one for about 18 months. I just love car cleaning and polishing, this will get a lot of use.
Serious detailing ahead! Thumbs Up Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Well I had a little play with the DA polisher tonight. Used the 2 finest polishes supplied, very light cutting action on the bonnet only so far (washed and clayed first). A coat of Poorboys EXP sealant afterwards to finish, Im very impressed with the results. Bow down
I'll have to set aside a day and do the whole car! Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Well day off today, perfect weather, ideal for a little bit of tinkering.
Bumper off, foglight mounts bonded on with tiger seal, while that was drying made up a loom for the lights using H11 connectors, foglamps attached, bumper back on, finisher trims attached. Pleased with the result and looks more 'right' to me somehow, hated those black plastic blanks.

While I had the bumper off I noticed that there is a connector attached to nothing on the offside, obviously the loom for the fogs and front paring sensors on higher spec models. Im wondering if that end of the wiring is already there, would an indicator / light switch stalk with the front fog switch included be simply a case of plugging in? Havent finished wiring them yet until I figure out what way they will be switched. Wee job for another day!

Time for a cold beer I think Thumbs Up
