United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Zermatt Silver

None of us know what the future holds for the production of JLR in the future, the fact TATA are investing millions in an old factory like Solihull shows that they intend to keep some production here in the UK and it would seem it's the premium brand they want produced here in the UK.

Lets not turn this into a political battle, I for one and I'm sure others on here are not interested in how you voted in the EU referendum, this is a forum to help Freelander 2 owners get the most out of their vehicles, if want a political rant then take it to a forum that specialises in that sort of thing.

I was thinking about some of the comments elsewhere on the forum about the £millions currently being spent by JLR dealers around the country upgrading their dealerships. If I was a dealer, my financiers would want to have a pretty good idea of what was coming down the track before making a commitment so I can only assume that they have an inside track on what is planned across the model range over the next 5 years or more and that JLR are selling a good story. It would also be interesting to learn if JLR is subsidising any of the dealer upgrades. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

An article dated 4th July 2015 long before Brexit, said JLR want to produce 350,000 vehicles at its new facility in 2019.

I have in the past been privy to some big product strategy events from corporates and you have to sign your life away with personal non disclosure agreements just to get in the door then they take your phones off you. Most businesses don't use their own money either so the banks or backers will want to see what sort of commitment across the product line.
I guess that the dealer principals and upwards will see this stuff but not the sales managers in case they start selling the future rather than what's on the shelf now. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I think this is the original article? As you say there is a long term plan to move to lower wage zones.
