Same as other makes , I used Star for Mercedes and never regretted buying it.

Bits starting to arrive namely the Camera IPMB with all the pigtails.
Whilst I’m waiting for other parts I’ll make up the main PWR/CAN harness from the plug and
mount the module next to the TIM under drivers seat. This will most probably require me to remove the whole module mount as it will be easier to work on. Just need a free weekend now🤔 MY15

Hi Stuart, I work for a dealer and we do ccf changes during software updates etc and these are then uploaded to LR for reference. Does this cause an issue with your mods? Do you keep a copy of your ccf for reference?

Basically “No”. I keep copy of all changes only because I like order and there’s always “As Build” data otherwise. I can pretty much remember most file settings these days and the bigger number of changes I keep files on. MY15

Looked into this, great idea Vanny Thumbs Up can’t believe I didn’t think about this earlier Laughing need to find myself a OBD plug, don’t think that’s too hard and wait for a few more bits to arrive.

While I’m playing the waiting game for hardware for everything I was left with doing a bit of soldering today, extending the wires for the main harness plug. These should be long enough to reach from the IMPB’s location under the drivers seat to
The OBD plug for testing the module. Also released HSD Fakra’s from the cut HSD lines.



Test fitted the IPMB which sits next to the TIM under the drivers seat and is a perfect fit. Whilst I could fit the IPMB in it’s cradle in situ, it’s easier just to remove the whole carrier and do it on the bench.
I also need to do some wiring schematic research and find where and the best place to draw power for the IPMB so that I’m using the current fused supply in the CJB. Ground and CAN are all available under the drivers seat.




Only thing I’m missing now is a camera which so far illudes me. MY15

Rainy morning here so no excuses not to wip the module carrier out and fabricate (not to Lightwaters std’s☺️) a fixture for the IPMB. Not a particularly difficult job, just some acrobatic yoga moves getting the whole carrier out and back in again.

All ready now for some wiring, waiting, waiting, waiting Whistle

Some of my tools of trade are clamping a section of aluminium to a bench & folding it over the edge to achieve the exact angle..... within reason! Failing that, to achieve the tolerance required I fine tune the angle with a sledge hammer! Bending stainless steel needs the precision touch of the above mentioned tool! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
