I was quoted £960 for an extra years warranty and LRA on my Evoque. Turned it down, put it away (in my mind!) and 6 months in I’ve still got £960 in my 'fund'. Fingers crossed for the next 6 months! Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Not sure think you'd have to ask dealer on that. If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

Not quite as lucky as you Steve in year one but I also turned it down and I am in year 3 now with no extended warranty. To keep my car on the road to include all the service items, two sets of tyres and a battery plus any failed items so far has costs me about £1,000 pounds a year. So not much more than having the LR warranty each year and on top of that would be all those service items and buying servicing at Land Rover dealer prices. I have had two FL2s under warranty that needed between them: gearbox, rear diff, wheel bearings, transfer box, exhaust sensors and the 2011 hesitation problem plus a few other bits and pieces so worth it for me. Current vehicle came with two years warranty and has had a door lock replaced.

Yes, I've also replaced the tyres and battery but as others have said, I would have had to pay for those anyway as they are not in the warranty. Servicing will be on top of the warranty and I believe is in the T&C's of the warranty so instead of spending around £500 on a LR service I'll be spending about £120 on quality service parts and doing it myself. I have AA relay so not bothered about the roadside recovery part of the LRA. I have confidence in it as I've had two years with nothing apart from an electrical glitch just after buying it. If I'd have had as much aggro as some, I'd have got rid of it! I did change the Haldex filter and oil recently so I suppose I could say I've spent £80 from my fund but again, I'd have done that anyway. I'm giving it a mid-term oil change but I also did that when I had a service plan too! Next thing is going to be a gearbox flush. All these oils and service parts inc the tyres and battery can be (cough) lost trough work though so not too terrible. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto Present: Audi A3 S Line. |
