I do have the extended warranty. Never been a problem, if it needs a replacement part, either warranty pays of LRCS do as it is a "known fault".
Regarding shockers, I have been on this forum since 2011 and I do not believe I have seen any posts where shocks have been replaced due to wear. This must be a first.... "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Last car 250,000 km original shocks all round, car before that I did replace the rear shocks at 130,000 but that was only so I had air shocks to raise the rear of the car for heavy loads, including an on-board compressor, but the front were the originals, also 250,000 km. Both cars had a modest amount of horrid outback roads even though they were only 2WD.

If you push down on the front corner & the car does not bounce up & down, shocks are ok. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Thanks guys, sounds like its not the shocks then.

The links on the anti roll bar could be source of noise at front, and sloppy handling. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

On my previous FL2 LR contacted me when the extended warranty was about to run out with a quote for renewal. I went for full warranty plus LR Assist which came out at £900 which you can pay in 10 installments. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Doing my front springs at the moment as one of the springs has snapped. It is do able on the drive. You will require a larger than average ball joint splitter. Don't need to compress the springs till the complete unit is off the car.
There's a good how to vid on YouTube by KYB. You will need bigger spanners than his though. I needed a large breaker bar to shift some of the nuts on mine. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.

Yes I have done last year and got it to do this year. But you done need a bit of brut force to get it all together.

Just a little tip for anyone contemplating this task.
When it comes to removing the hub assembly from the bottom of the strut, take out the pinch bolt and put it back in from the other end.
Put a washer, or any piece of metal that will fit, into the gap at the back of the hub were it nips up.
As you tighten the bolt it will contact the washer (if placed correctly) and will widen the gap thus allowing the hub to be removed easily and safely.  Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.

Yeah , our 64 plate SD4 SE Tech does that too. - 30K miles and no different now from when we first had it at 6 months old. Though when I think about it I think they are "bottoming out" as it happens as you pass over to the far side of a speed bump and the springs extend rapidly - no noise on hitting the speed bump.

how were the rears to do, much fiddling about with the roll bar links?

Links are easy enough, getting the strut all lined up with top plate when off is a bit fiddly when you have not seen one before as it can't just sit anywhere in a 360 degrees arc. You need a good set of spring clamps and some you can fit while strut is still on the vehicle to take weight off. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
