Hi, I am grievously disappointed that nobody seems to give a monkeys, therefore I shall monitor the site for other interesting subjects but will take no further active part. Thanks a lot for the lack of interest |

So what's your mentality Jock! I simply asked a simple question, does anyone know the answer to a SIMPLE question that I didn't know the answer to, and you would think that I had asked who knew the date of the end of the world Thanks Folks |

Thanks for that, I know that they do not have codes as such, but everything else on the damned thing seems to argue with canbus or something so I thought to ask about the need for making everything talk to each other. I am sorry if my annoyance with this query has caused offence. Dave |

It depends what was faulty with the original unit. A new unit would need to be fitted to the car and configured as a new unit. If it wasn’t it would not work. |

Thank you very much for that answer and information.......I don't want to rake up the past, but if someone had been able to tell me that earlier, much 'difficulty' might not have occurred. Could you also tell me whether a Lynx diagnostic tool could be used for the set-up? I am told that the firm doing the repair/replace job has sent the second amp away for repair, it may just be the case that the first repair was good, but the installation was at fault, i.e. he doesn't know what cantankerous sods Freelanders are. No idea if a lynx could do it. Any time you fit “repaired” electronics you can get issues. |

Are you sure your supplying dealer actually sent it away to be repaired ? Ask the supplying dealer where they sent your amp. Contact that repairer, ask what was wrong with it and how they mended it. Jules |
