Because of the weaning process..............The six cocker pups soon to be five weeks old are now growing into pooh and pee machines with waggy tails.

Our cocker seemed to take an age to house train, a lot longer than our previous boy, but he did like eating walls so..........

Years ago we had a springer pup that went through a stage of eating skirtingboards. A friend of ours suggested wiping hot chillie sauce on the skirting board. Resulting in the pup licking instead of chewing the wood.

Someone else suggested wiping clove oil on the boards. I can say that clove oil makes a good paint stripper.

Over the years we have thought of different ways and also tried a few new ideas of doing the puppy litter control. We have settled into a workable routine of regular changes of Vet Bed Gold combined with Kitchen Paper hands on pooh picking. Orcado have the best deals on Fiesta Jumbo packs.

The little machines ( Lord love 'em ) have a habit of backing up to the bars of the pen and doing what comes naturally, which means extra work in cleaning. We are and will be eternally greatful to the makers of Natural Instinct Puppy Weaning Paste for it produces the most consistant easily managed waste material this side of Gloucester Docks.

I have booked a training day with some other folks with Andy Cullen up in Wales soon it will be interesting for someone like him to look at what I have been doing with the new pup plus the breeder will get to see his progress

Was out on a walk with this lot today and as usual they were all chasing a ball I was throwing when my one, Susie, came limping back. Took her home and rested her up - she can’t put weight on her front top right paw. She seemed restless this evening so just got back from the vets. Vets said it’s a sprain. Given an injection and anti inflammatory tablets and been confined to two ten minute lead walks for the next two weeks. She’s going to drive us mad!

In the kitchen ten minutes of steadiness training is also good exercise

She’s much better now. Finished the anti-inflammatory tablets yesterday. Took her out for a little road walk today and so that I didn’t overwalk her, we got a train back!

New pup to compliment my older girl.

Is the pup going to be a working dog it's a lovely looking dog.
I took mine back to Wales last Saturday for a training day with Andy Cullen had a good day and he did really well

no bought him as a family addition, although he is from Pedigree working stock with a heavy dose of Rytex in the history. Ive not KC registered him as im not interested in him as a stud or show. Already showing his devilish character after only 6 days

my older girl is also working stock, but again ive never worked her. She is 13 this year, deaf and a touch of arthritis in her back end but being around younger dogs others have in the family she still has a mischievous glint in her eye
