Pulled into a mini supermarket at Penclawdd. got back in the car and it would't start. Battery Light was on. called the RAC who were too busy called the stud dog owner who lives about five minutes away He came out and we went to his place had the bitch mated, got the cart going with a jump start.

The M4 conditions moved from being a good road to a single lane in the space ot a quarter of an hour. A car in front went into a double spin. Thank God I alowed enough space between us. He managed to gain control as I passed him. A few Loony lorry drivers going far too fast in the snow covered lane 3.

Managed to get within two miles of home and got stuck in a drift. I had to walk home with the dog in a blizzard. Hope the car is still there.

As you had done a fair journey and it kept going on the way home it looks as if you need a new battery. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

YB..Why have one jump when you can have two. Thanks for the battery pointer, it is a new battery almost a month old and it's the uprated one made for the stop/start models. I wonder if I am being over generous with the heated seats. I am going to look at an uprated alternator.

Largered..I had no choice in the matter you see prime time for the bitch was yesterday. Today and Saturday might have done but the road conditions are worse today with the drifting. The traction on our cars is superb glad I bought one in spite of the computor throwing up odd results from time to time.

Plan C worked, the local farmer pulled me out. Handy he had a snow plough on to get through the drifts. In snow time he does work for the local council.


All in all Dydd Gwyl Dewi was a funny old day.

End of day,you're home safe.

Any cockles and laverbread on offer for you? and the lamb off them salt marshes is bloody tasty as anything I've ever had.
 If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

The area around Penclawdd used to be renown for Sea Food. every cottage had a shed with a boiler to process the cockles. The village even had a railway that used to carry train loads of cockles etc to Swansea, Cardiff and Birmingham.

You did have a choice. I consider you made a selfish choice. You did not consider other road users (who had a higher priority than yourself), the emergency services, rescue and response groups, to list a few.....

......... you did not even consider yourself, your family and most of all your dog. Was there a financial implication involved ??
