I was getting very tempted to head up to the Lakes tomorrow for 2 nights staying at the Royal at Dockray (great direct rate) until I checked the wind speed on that web site over the Lakes for next 48 hours. Not a chance to get high in that so will look this time next week to see if its on. I used to love going to Scotland in Winter but its just too expensive in fuel these days for a short break on your own. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Yorkie Bob,cracker of a link that and that mess out in the Irish Sea has found landfall.-2 and snowing now after some powdery stuff most of morning. If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

aye, know what you mean about fuel costs, I only manage one week up Scotland now but used to do one week in May then a long weekend in September but too pricey just for couple of days. If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

Well up early as Mrs Yorky has sequestrated the Rover, knocked off the snow and warmed it up for her as she left her 2wd bubble tucked up warm in our garage (it is as boiler in there). Worth getting up to get a rare sighting of a Barn Owl.

-11 here at 0500 just got the better half off to work and she only got up to main road 1/2mile uphill and it went to a balmy -5.

Dropped to -11 here overnight to. Good opportunity to spot if your glow plug light comes on (mine does), had at least a 3 second delay starting yesterday.

Just heard someone on the radio from a "Motoring Organisation" talking about the snow problems and how the salt has been spread but needs some traffic on it to spread it and thereby raise the temperature. Don't these people realise that adding salt actually causes the surface temperature to fall? The important bit is that the freezing point is lower too so it melts. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Just had a light covering of snow and an oil tanker delivery arrived from Yeovil. The driver said that there was hardly any snow about and couldn't understand what the fuss is all about. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
