My secondhand GS came with front flaps fitted, but none on the rear.

Just noticed your car is black..So I think you'll still be washing it as often anyway, black looks mucky all too quickly, been there and decided never to have a black car again |

No more colour war CG However Black is a hopeless colour to keep clean everybody will accept that, but when it is clean it looks good, really good, no fantastic (for 5 minutes), that is why I and many Stornoway FL2 owners have chosen the best colour for our drives - you can keep your diry black ones to yourself 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof. Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc. |

I was thinking about this, and stumbled across this idea on the disco3 forum.

They would be practical, but they would look pants on an FL2. I find that the rear mudflaps do help alot, not that ours gets very dirty!! But it does look more complete when all four are fitted. I don't think they help that much, the back of the car still gets very dirty in this weather. ______________________

Mudflaps -particularely on the rear - do indeed prevent spraying of the rear of the Freely 2 considerably - but not for 100%. But spraying is reduced to a minimum. One more point: stone chips on the paint of the back door/rear bumper are prevented as a side impact. I would (and do) use the mud flaps especially designed to fit the Freely 2. I even like the looks.

I think that the rear mud flaps will do and the front ones are luxury (and difficult to fix). The rear mudflaps cost in Germany EUR 33,00 incl taxes and the fitting is done within 7 minutes by anyone ( 2 srews and one clip).

A day after taking delivery of my FL2 I went to Shrewsbury and on the way encountered a 15 minute thunder storm. When I arrived I went to open the boot and the back was caked in dirt - I was gutted!!!! My shiney new FL2 looked like its was 12 months old!!! Got some funny looks off the neighbours when I got home when they saw me washing a 1 day old car!! Think its common with all 4x4's really as its all to do with the near vertical back end Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black
