Have you read the very long topic in maintenance and mods about egr blanking? Seems there is 2 camps on the subject ( for and against) with both sides saying yes you can/no you can`t do a DPF fitted vehicle. Might be worth a read! No personal experience with mine although I did blank my EGR on a previous Freelander 1 but did not really notice any different. I was shocked however with how badly the inlet manifold was clogged with horrible black gunge to the point that the inlets ports were a fraction of their original size. Took ages to get clean! |

i have just put my plate in my 2012 sd4 only done about 10 miles since fitting so not noticed a difference only it seems to pull away better when stood and no EML showing.I fitted the plate without the hole in it.Time will tell |

Please keep us updated with how you get on in the longer term. I`m sure a few people would be very interested in whether you had any issues after you`ve done a few more miles. |

so the freelander has been in the garage today, turns out it does need a new EGR valve. The price of the part isnt to bad but due to location the labour cost is pretty high.
