Antifreeze type?

Can someone confirm if this is the correct type for MY2009 TD4?
Genuine Land Rover extended life antifreeze STC50530.

Short answer to your question: based on my searching I wouldn't hesitate to use STC50530 in my Land Rover.

Long answer and what I actually decided to use:

Here is what I did for my petrol powered 2008 3.2

First I checked the specification

Perhaps someone could confirm that the Diesel has the same specification as the 3.2

Based on the specification first I looked for Texaco XLC and I was not successful

Then I opened my search to OAT based coolant with no methanol

From the Texaco XLC data sheet

Based on this information I decide to use the VW TL 774F as it meets the requirements and I happened to already have some.

If you have STC50530 then go ahead and use it.

For reference Ravenol make a G12+ coolant that meets the following specifications.

Approval Specifications
VW TL 774 D
VW TL 774 F

Other Specifications
Mercedes Benz Coolant: MB 325.3
Jaguar Coolant: JLM20972-1
Land Rover Coolant: STC50527, STC50529, STC50530
Porsche Coolant: 000 043 203 78, 000 043 203 79, 000 043 300 31, 000 043 330 88
Saab Coolant: 12799123, 12799124, 12346290
Opel Coolant: GM 6277 M
Ford of Europe Coolant: WSS M 97 B44D, MTU MTL 5048,B 040 1065

And I wouldn't hesitate to use the Ravenol

The Ravenol is just an example there should be lots of coolants that meet the requirements

I used a G12+ (actually I went for the G13) because my other car is from EVE (evil volkswagon empire)
If my other car were a Ford I would have used a WSS M 97 B44D fluid

This way I don't have to have too may different chemicals in my garage.

I purchased the STC50530 for my Land Rover Freelander 2 TD4 from eBay, but note that there is no mention of OAT on the container. See would really like conformation that it's okay for the 2.2 desiel engine?

Here is a link that claims that Land Rover switched to the the 50530 coolant for the Range Rover

If you believe the link it clearly states that 50530 is OAT

The product is now available from Land Rover Parts as ‘OAT Anti Freeze’.
PARTS INFORMATION:
STC 50529 - OAT Anti Freeze - 1 litre
STC 50530 - OAT Anti Freeze - 5 litre

3. Click on the PDF

4. Go to section 3.2

Find the following

Find the following information on Wikipedia

Organic acid technology

One of the anti-corrosion components presented as sodium or Potassium 2-ethylhexanoate

Based on this what you have is OAT

Halfords coolant?
