If the process for FL keys is the same as for the D4, then they come with a blank key blade - the correct cut blade needs to be ordered individually by the dealer. So, in essence, there are three parts to getting a new key - the fob itself, pairing the fob to the car & getting the correct blade for the car. |

If you're worried, get a price for a new fob, blade & pairing from your nearest LR dealer & tell the seller you will hold back the equivalent amount from the purchase price until you have everything from them. If they provide an unpaired fob without a cut blade then reduce the amount you hold back etc.

Garage is being awkward about everything since they cocked up the figures on their car and i'm thinking they want me to cancel as they've said twice i can have my deposit back, they probably hope i will then they'll sell it again for at least £1k more.

I think I would be walking away from this dealership. After all if they can’t sort out the key to your satisfaction what happens if you have a later problem with the car? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

That's what i'm thinking but the car is more than £2000 cheaper than similar ones for sale at the mileage

And doesn’t that ring any alarm bells? I assume we are not talking about a LandRover dealer here. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Not wanting to put you off, but I made a conscious decision to buy my 1 owner D4 from a Land Rover dealer because after much searching I just did not feel that any of the forecourt car sales dealers really knew how complex 4x4s are or had adequate warranty or back up facilities to offer. Cost me a few quid more but I got a LR Approved Used 2 year warranty plus LR Assistance & MoT insurance. I also had them include a service on the car & have a copy of the invoice from service to sales that shows they replaced a lot of stuff I simply would not have picked up AND I know they used genuine LR parts which are guaranteed for 2 years and also cover consequential damage if they fail.
