From what month in the UK do they start putting additives in the fuel to make winter diesel?

Thanks

Just wondering what's the lowest temperature the dashboard will display? I've had it down to -9, but was wondering if it can go to minus double digits.

At New Year I was up in the mountains, and the display said -17C. So at least two digits. Three? Well, then we are dead.
No starting problems either. Just remember to put in the brake-pedal, push the start-button and WAIT!
It can take up to 30-45 seconds before it starts. But it starts. 2008 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Automatic, Caspian Blue, Alpaca, Moon roof, Exclusive pack.

-12 where i was in Mid Wales last week, FL2 started OK but i did notice that after pressing the start button the glow plug light came on and went off straight away while the engine cranked a few times before fireing up, there was no delay with the glow plug light on before starting.
It did sound as though it could have done with a bit more heat from the glow plugs before fireing up.

-7 C this morning in deepest Lancashire and I managed to count to 3 after pressing the Start Button until the Starter motor moved. Didn`t notice if a glowplug light came on though. Don`t drive faster than your angel can fly!

Not if you have manual diesel :

STARTING A DIESEL ENGINE / Manual transmission
1. Insert the remote control into the docking port and press to latch.
2. Press the clutch pedal.

STARTING A PETROL ENGINE & STARTING A DIESEL ENGINE Automatic transmission
1. Insert the remote control into the docking port and press to latch.
2. Press the brake pedal.
