So how does one "wake it up" again after its 4 week plus hibernation?

I will take a guess that you have to use the key on the left hand door. Not going to be too good if its parked tight against anything. Rolling Eyes

Once you put the key fob in the slot and press the start button, it should just start up. Worked for me. MY13 Santorini Black SD4 HSE

I left my MY2011 FL2 at the airport and I know from experience that the car will gradually shut down according to time and battery condition. Even if your battery is good, it will stop looking for your key after about 28days, and everything apart from the door alarm will stop working to save the battery. If your battery is suspect then it will be shorter.
(I also have done 25days and everything seemed ok with no troubles)

However, once I was in the car via the emergency key (the alarm should be sounding), I put key in holder and car started as normal.

Don't forget to check, if it doesn't start, that you haven't disturbed or moved anything else. I had an embarrassing few minutes lately when I absentmindedly moved the gear selector into drive. The car didn't start first time as it usually does and I selected drive without thinking, then tried to restart. --- For a moment I convinced myself the battery had failed -- be warned. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
