Fl2 td4 camshaft failure

Hello all ! My exhaust camshaft broke, at the end towards
the high pressure pump. Its a norwegian 2007 model.
Does anyone have a writeup/guide for changing the camshaft ?
I’m thinking about timing/ positioning of the cams after removal,
removal of the cam chain etc etc.
All help are appriciated

Thanks

I expect that you know that you need to check for valve/piston damage ? It very likely that valves and pistons have come into contact. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Thanks. Not to bee rude, but why is that likely?
The cam turns as normal, just broke where the cam connects to the pump.

Regards

The danger is if the cam breaks then the valves may not be clear of the pistons when they rise, thus damaging the valve, piston and even crank shaft.

i understand this, as if the cambelt/timingbelt snaps. but in this case, the function of the camshaft are not compromised besides it will not power the high pressure pump.

I think your best help here will be the Haynes manual. Its at least a good starting point.

As far as I know, camshaft failure in the connection towards the diesel pump is not an unknown issue on the -07 makes, and the later camshafts is uprated.

A lot more information here:

Happy reading og lykke til Smile
