OK so where did they find 2 Freelanders in Europe to sell new in 2017

Its left over made in 2014 sold in 2017, sometime when a dealer is bankrupt it takes time until the curt liquidize his assets.

But, how was it registered at all? There are no Euro 6 compliant FL2’s and that became a legal requirement in September 2015

At least, that’s the way it is for diesels, don’t know about petrol...

In Germany Euro 5 cars where selling throgh out
2016 and the FL 2 I4 is euro 5, but yes it is still not explaining 2017

I believe I saw that those last ones were Si4 models, not Diesels.

The jag website says:

"•From 1st January 2015, all newly introduced vehicles must meet Euro 6 standards. This includes any new models on the market, for example: Jaguar XE
•Vehicles already on sale must comply with Euro 6 by 1st September 2015, but;

◦Individual vehicles already on sale that were built by, and dispatched from, the manufacturer before 1st June 2015 can continue to be sold until 1st September 2016. However, the manufacturer must apply for derogation in these instances."

I would assume "on sale" refers to models on sale which already had type approval at the time. So they were ok to register and sell them after the 64 plate ended as they were previously sold before the initial deadline.
