Hi can any one tell me about the hill decent light it work the breaks if first gear but is stuck on the switch seams to work I have pulled the relay under the bonnet but the breaks still come on I picked a workshop manual it said go to landrover but landrover dont support the car she is a 2003 diesel auto with 83k on the clock believed original I have a 2003 diesel auto

Yes your Freelander should go up and down any DECENT HILL

Does the hill descent light on the dash go out when you switch the HDC off? If the switch is working ok then its most probably a problem with the ABS modulator which is located in the drivers front inner wing. It is a self contained unit which includes the ECU and is reasonably easy to change although it does involve having to bleed the brakes after it has been changed. 2003 is a change over year so you will have to get the part number from the old unit to make sure you get the correct replacement. You should be able to pick one up on Ebay.
