" ..... hill decent ......"

Yes your Freelander should go up and down any DECENT HILL Thumbs Up

.................. and you are on the wrong forum, this site is for Freelander 2 ..... not Freelander 1.

Go to Face Book and look for "Freelander Owners Club site".

Steady guys, the poster may not have English as a first language. However it does remind me of something my son sent me the other day from a hotel in Kenya. Apart from the rather unfortunate name for the hotel, the description in the brochure takes some decoding.

Nice one Dorset. Glaring issue in the OPs post is that LR in Swindon do not appear to be interested in FL1s!

United Kingdom 2012 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Firenze Red

Does the hill descent light on the dash go out when you switch the HDC off? If the switch is working ok then its most probably a problem with the ABS modulator which is located in the drivers front inner wing. It is a self contained unit which includes the ECU and is reasonably easy to change although it does involve having to bleed the brakes after it has been changed. 2003 is a change over year so you will have to get the part number from the old unit to make sure you get the correct replacement. You should be able to pick one up on Ebay. Thumbs Up
