I must be miles behind latest tech, a quick net search finds there are many RFID signal shielding pouches available - seems same technology/pouch prevents tracking of cellphones Shocked

There are two solutions either put your keys in a tin box like a biscuit tin (Faraday Cage) or put your car in one. Very Happy

PS best technique years ago was to swap two plug leads over, even if they hot wired the ignition system the engine wouldn't run properly and a thief would assume something was wrong with it. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

What about adding a secret fuel pump switch or something similar.

On my old BMW 3 series it was possible to break the drivers quarter light glass and slide a cable down to the OBD socket, without the internal sensor activating the alarm, and then code a blank key in about 2 mins to then unlock and drive off with the car once the owner had unwittingly replaced the broken glass. One method to prevent was to physically move the OBD socket to somewhere else hidden under the dash and then add an extension socket to a secret place. Jules

Unfortunately, this doesn’t work. The “tin” needs to be made of aluminium, or completely lined in aluminium foil.

Sorry but it just needs to be a conductor, I have seen screened rooms in electronics labs which are copper lined.

Wrong, Im afraid, about the metal - any conductor will do but you are correct in that a solid "cage" is better at attenuation than a mesh one.
