MP3s

My parents have a 2012 Freelander 2 XS.

Any idea how I can get the car to play MP3s through a USB stick?
Its the only thing thats letting the car down as they are stuck in the dark ages of cds.

Ideas how I could get the car to accept one would be greatly appreciated, someway, somehow?

Thanks Thumbs Up

Why a USB stick ?

If they have an MP3 player, then through the headphone 3.5mm socket you plug that into the AUX connector on the centre console. You will need to source a 3.5mm - 3.5mm cable.

AUX connection is top left connector in photo.

That is how I do it.

I think an MP3 player is best, as the Freelander radio does not have the control over the music selection, as it does in your vehicle.

Any MP3 will do ...... also they can use the MP3 player in other environments, like in the home or office.

I have a Samsung MP3 I use in my vehicle ........... and out of the vehicle when I am sat in my chair and enjoying a LargeRed Laughing

To answer your question, assuming you have a mid or premium system (MOST). other than changing the head unit to one that has a USB port, the only solutions I could find were these:

http://umno-tech.com/catalog/product_info....f697c62795

or like this that uses RF to transmit to an used FM frequency that can be used on any system

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Transmitter-VicTs...ar+usb+mp3

I tried the RF transmitter one but it was too fiddly to use when driving unless you just play the MP3 tracks one after the other. so binned it First option allows you to use the Head unit to change tracks and display text etc but is limited to the MOST units.

2013 MY onward cars have a USB port built in btw.
