Could be a split hose ? As for the mpg it's about right compared to mine with short runs. |

Re. the fumes under the bonnet, i just had this recently, there is a crankcase breather pipe at the top rear of the engine, runs along the back near the scuttle, it joins a union that vents back into the air intake for the engine.

On the subject of MPG (I know there is a separate thread for this) I have a 'heavy' Freelander. The spare wheel carrier on the back is VERY heavy (or should that read 'over-engineered), the 'Brick' of a roof top sleeping pod and Off Road tyres ......... this is my MPG

Anyone coming to a FL2 is unfortunately going to get a major shock on fuel. 2.2 diesel ( old school a la Transit ) , heavy car, big rubber footprint and some element of all four of wheels being driven. Chuck in an auto box using very old technology and high MPG will never be an option . Even tyre choice on this vehicle can add/lose 2mpg. On urban commutes 22mpg per Mr Pinks is believable. 28 is my wife’s average. I’ve squeezed a 44 mpg out of the car on 200 miles non stop run, driving like I was in a funeral procession .

No argument with the fuel consumption. My 2010 TD4 (160) Auto gives me an overall of about 28mpg including a small amount of towing. Use of 2SO has made no difference. Presently using BP Ultimate with minimal improvement, certainly not enough to justify the extra expense.
