i went for the 35w premium

to be honest the 35 watt is night and day to the standard halogen, but can you have bright enough
easy install if you take headlights out (3 min job) and you have to drill a hole for cables

Think it was mentioned earlier up the thread that holes were drilled for wiring.  If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

using the sticky pads, stuck the ballast to the outside of the cover and drilled the correct size hole, you then have a proper cable grommet. Ill take a picture in the daylight of installed

I had my local garage fit this kit for me only it didn't work, neither bulb would fire up, the DRL's dim slightly as the headlights were turned on but nothing from the HIDS at all.
I bought the same kit premium 9005 (HB3) 35w Xenon kit.
I'm going to contact Hids-Direct to see if there are any known problems with these and the LR FL2.
He put the original lamps back in and they were okay...
Any thoughts?

Sometimes you need to reverse the wiring to the unit as they are polarity sensitive!

Took the plunge haveing had H7,S H11,S then HB3 ,s on this Hse ..
got O E M xenons s/h

took to local place had car config file sorted (via Auto Logic )

Jobs a good one ...

no cutting no soldering worked fine and has done for 3 weeks now .....happy days


Had a petition last week from sheep on other side of the mountain asking to keep high beams off at night as they now think its daylight when I come in at night and the cant get back to nibbling the grass .....  Wales
Were the mud is thicker, and the ruts are deeper.

its the output from the original bulb holder, obviously a halogen bulb can have the +ve and -ve either way round, the instructions do say that you have to get polarity right. Easily checked with a multimeter on voltage and -ve to chassis. set headlamps on and poke the +ve lead of the multimeter in the two sockets on the bulb plug, one will show voltage (+ve) and one will show nothing (-ve) job done, get them the wrong way round and no damage is done, they just dont work. I have had a total of four hid kits and all have, and still are working
Why didnt you do it yourself? it is a very easy install
