Very common. Look up water leak in Search function and you'll get lots of info. Silicone grease on the seal helped with mine |

Thanks - Yes I suppose having 1 of the 5 Freelanders that Ive owned with a loose stoplamp would be considered common. Just not come across it before. I didnt search under "water leak" because I dont have a water leak, yet Its all about the getting the right search terms. Jules |

What I did when the seal started leaking was cut two small pieces out of the wife's credit card & place them between the clips & the body just to make the seal fit tighter. Has not leaked again for years & saved me a fortune

Maybe, Deano, within discussions but when I searched using "tailgate stop lamp" I got only 8 results, none of which were relevant to my query about it being loose. So you can see why I thought it not common. Jules |

Yep, at this time of the year its best to cut up the wife's credit card. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

ah ah You're probably right about the correct search term. This leaky stop light thing was very familiar to me and is the only thing that niggled in 4 years.of ownership. Still put on the grease now and again |

Thats pretty good - to have only one niggle in 4 years of ownership.
