Well done BTW Phil. I had trouble getting mine started after changing the fuel filter but got it going in the end thanks to the forum. |

You don't need to prime the fuel filter if you are quick to cap the fuel lines, particularly the tank-> filter line to prevent fuel running back down the pipe. Mahle supply 4 correctly sized male/female caps with their fuel filter to do this (which I've retained for future use) but it's mainly that one line that needs doing. Then just fill the filter up with diesel and fires straight up.

I plug the tank line and use a hand primer (bulb type) to fill the filter when it is in place. I've not had any issues but the first time changed my filter I had sphincter puckering issues before fired it up, I need not have worried.

I drive 100kms round trip for work each day and then some. The FL2 gets a work out for sure. I plan on ditching it in a few years for something else but not sure what yet.

Nothing is good value for money now in the LR stable. Our FL2 is very safe at the moment but will be keen to see what happens with the new Defender. Let the mad scramble happen and then work out if its trash or not. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

The last oil change on my service record was 14 months ago ,but less than 1000 miles .been working on it just had the odd run out.any thoughts. |

Saw a couple of Volvo XC60 ads on TV recently, I haven't had a look at one but isn't it basically the same car? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Volvo XC60 (up to 2016) is built on the same 'Ford' platform as the FL2.
