Wondering if I go with a newer model and find a way to improvise access to the start button or if I try and find the pre 2012 model... |

Access to start button is only required very occasionally. You can set the unit to switch on and off with the ignition, so only need the start button if the internal battery dies. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

Been great for months then this heat today got to the hot glue and it fell into the slot. Had to refit. Tried a little velcro to see if that just supports it..might need a revisit. |

I ditched the hot glue after the first summer. Use Sikaflex or similar. |

Sound: if you have the stereo baring it's difficult to hear, but i find it fine to hear. Just can't have stereo ar deafening levels.

Re the failed hot glue issue [per below], mine has fallen foul and collapsed into the void during the heat of last summer and also this summer.
