Lake District - Any fun drives recommended.

Hiya,

I'm up in the west of the Lake District for a week in my FL2 next month. I was wondering any known good little routes that will be fun to drive.

Ohhh hardknott that I know, I just didn't know it was called that. Smile

YES need to do that both ways. Did it last year in my 1.6 megane convertible it was hard work.... Love my FL2 a lot more than I did that Smile

The house I've rented is on a farm around a mile from Eskdale 2010 Freelander2 TD4_e GS

Hardknott and Wrynose Pass is the best road but exploring all the smaller roads is fun as well.
I will be staying in Gt Langdale between 9th and 16th September. Fingers crossed for some decent weather. 2013 TD4 GS Manual Santorini Black

I once stayed in Rothay Garden hotel, Grasmere, we could use the pool at a place in Langdale the short route via red Bank was impressive on a terrible rainy day. not a well travelled route I doubt but a new view of the lakes for me.

I have no kids so my work colleagues are all off, and as soon as school holidays are over I'm up there from the 8th to recover. A week walking the dog in the hills and a pub meal each night Smile 2010 Freelander2 TD4_e GS

Another vote for Hardknott Pass from me! This was in October and it was very wet! Some of the hairpins were a little slippy going uphill.
