The Rear Media Module is now on the network and I have a lot more access/screens available from the front touch screen. I must say the amount of screens available for this sub system is a little overwhelming at this stage considering that all was not quite going to plan over the weekend. Firstly the CAN wiring was wrong, Havn't done a review as yet but it's clear there's a problem somewhere with LR's wiring diagram or supplier. In the end I made the necessary changes and after a complete CAN reset the Rear Media Module came online. Next problem was I couldn't get the screen to wake up and there was certain areas of the system which remained unavailable to be selected from the many sub system menus and there's a lot!
So the discovery is that I've only activated one of at least a dozen CCF files required to enable this whole system, including the rear screens lol Rolling Eyes Opps!
A big thank you to Cambo who's been helping me all the way along and if it wasn't for his help we wouldn't have known the correct extra fields which need editing. I can only advise everyone that it crutial when doing these changes that you seek advice as we now have discovered in this case and other activations that it's a combination of activations.
So currently I'm working my way through a lot of CCF code and identifying the fields that need activating which I will do when weather is a little more favourable, Yes we are having rain and thunderstorms ATM Thud . Not risking any CCF editing while there's a chance of shorting power or power spikes. Still waiting for a few bits/parts but we're getting there!
I must say this Rear Media System is pretty amazing if not a little distracting from the amount of options/configurations available to select. But in its defence, by selecting the "Limo" mode, rear passengers can take control of the whole system freeing the driver Whistle

Forgot to mention that also discovered that the Rear Media System is capable of runing 5 rear screens in total (not that LR ever made it available) for anyone who wants to totally mesmerize their rear passenger.... Rolling Eyes MY15

2 on the back of the front seat headrests
2/3 on the back of the rear seat headrests (might need to replace the standard headrests with front seat type )

at least then the dogs in the boot will be kept entertained too

Very Happy

I have a 3.0kVA UPS & profesional power surge protection protecting the UPS, as pretty all UPSs do not have surge protection. The advise by the supplier is to disconnect the UPS during thunderstorms if you are not to keen loosing your computer.

Actually pull the plug out of the wall, NOT just simply turn the switch off at the wall.

Years ago a friend had a lighting strike as he was putting the key in the front door coming home from work. Half the house's electronics & kettles etc were fried. Some things switched on survived & some things switch off died. The lightning chooses which way it wants to go, & if it's a few mm across an open circuit on the wall, & it chooses your computer, tuff!

Unplug! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I think the fronts will fit the rear.....try them!
I may use mine in the back when I change over to the screen version.

EDIT; Front head restraints do not fit rear seats. MY15

I had the NAS spec fitted in mine but not for long. I don't use my rear seats at all and often leave them folded down as I do carry supplies in my car and don't always use the trailer. The nas spec head rests have to be fully removed in order to get a flat loading area.

Also they reduced rear visibility as I was used to the smaller headrests. I like to know who's behind me too Whistle MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

I have had two a fair bit bigger than this, but I do try to catch them & put them outside.

Many years ago a Huntsmans crawled across my bosses head. He thought the remaining few hairs on top of his head had fallen out of place. Returning his hand to the steering wheel he had a Huntsmans sitting on the back of his hand giving driving directions! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
