Drove down to Bath and Longleat safari for a couple of days (private tour in the defender is worth a go!) and then drive down by the coast to Hastings for a few days |

Today we have completed an 844 mile tow of our caravan with the Freelander to Normanday where we are spending our summer hols. That machine tows like a dream set the cruise control sit back and let the car take the strain.Didnt check the mpg but it did use a fair amount of fuel. Its almost 7 and we are sat in the sun in an cider orchard enjoying a glass of wine. |

Traded it in awaiting a DS next week after they fit my towbar. The F2 has been absolutely trouble free for 2 1/2 years so fingers crossed the DS is just as reliable.

Completed the return journey from France today,Freelander never missed a beat.Despite the length of journey it was a pleasure each day to park up not feeling to stressed or knackered. Most stress was caused by the so called kings of the the road the professional drivers yes truckers.Especialy the Malcolm of Brookfield artic Scania who pulled out from services just south of Colsterworth on the A1.Well done big man, saw him contemplating it but never ever in my wildest imagination did I think he would go for it considering there was no slip road for him to get up to speed and I was so close and I had a Corsa along side so couldn't move over to let him out.Best bit was his look of bemusement when I remonstrated at him about his driving standards.Singularly the poorest decision making we saw on our whole trip. |

Drove from bury to Hornsea, to see my parents. Mooched around local villages and had a pub lunch in Sproatley.

Went to the recycling centre with two builders dumpy bags full of garden rubbish in the back (seats down) and more bags of garden rubbish on the front seat and passenger footwell. What a versatile vehicle! That's why we keep buying them. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Bashed the n/s/r and scratched the bumper. Not happy, had to reverse quickly in a lane to avoid a very fast vehicle bearing down on me, was a single lane. Heard the beeps slammed on the brakes and crunch.

I have been thinking about painting my grill ever since I got the car, seeing yours has now motivated me into doing it, looks to have transformed the front end and I'll do the tailgate handle as well. Paint ordered (Sumatra Pearl) Looking good. REME .. Rough Engineering Made Easy |
