As I understand it the car senses the caravan by 12v appearing on pin 12 (I could easily be wrong) when the caravan is connected. Can't think it is anything to do with LED alighting though.

Mine has a similar problem, but..... I have noticed the following. Mine is fitted with 13 pin Jobbie. When I tow a trailer with a 13 to 7 adaptor in play. I can't get the sensors to switch off when reversing.... however. When I'm hooked up to a genuine 13 pin on a caravan. No problemo, reverse clears the rear sensors....

Hope that helps..
mines got 13pin to 7 adaptor and my sensors switch off.

Mines a MY13 Gs also, and when I'm connected to the tin tent my reverse alarm is disabled. The tow bar and electrics were fitted when new by the supplying dealer. I know this doesn't give you an answer to your problem, but it will hopefully confirm that what is happening with your towing electrics needs looking at. Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

I've read through a few past posts on the subject but haven't got to the bottom of this yet.
My GS has a LR tow bar and electrics (already fitted when I bought the car but they have LR stamped on them) however when I connect my caravan the sensors continue to go off, I thought with the LR set up this would not be the case or will they need more work or upgrades before this can happen.

I only have rear sensors so no dash switch Crying or Very sad

Thanks

howdenbiker if still an issue try a FORD Ranger LED adaptor.

Part numbers maybe only good for Australia?

Not sure how you will go with the 13 pin plug however (here in Aus) we use the Land Rover 7 pin round plug (Black), although my trailer has a 7 pin Flat plug. (On the adaptor I changed the 12 pin MALE for a 7 Pin Round MALE).
Works fine with regards the Dash light for the trailer indicators and silencing the reversing sensors. Thumbs Up

It is possible that you could get away with it noting the wiring may be able to be retrofitted into EU round couplings as only 12 wires are used (comparisons below)

Good luck. Very Happy Statistics, where one can be one, two.
