Mines a MY13 Gs also, and when I'm connected to the tin tent my reverse alarm is disabled. The tow bar and electrics were fitted when new by the supplying dealer. I know this doesn't give you an answer to your problem, but it will hopefully confirm that what is happening with your towing electrics needs looking at. howdenbiker if still an issue try a FORD Ranger LED adaptor. Part numbers maybe only good for Australia? Not sure how you will go with the 13 pin plug however (here in Aus) we use the Land Rover 7 pin round plug (Black), although my trailer has a 7 pin Flat plug. (On the adaptor I changed the 12 pin MALE for a 7 Pin Round MALE). Works fine with regards the Dash light for the trailer indicators and silencing the reversing sensors. It is possible that you could get away with it noting the wiring may be able to be retrofitted into EU round couplings as only 12 wires are used (comparisons below)
Good luck. Statistics, where one can be one, two. |
