Just seen my 1st D5 in the flesh, in fact I parked next to it. It was like a mini Pantechnicon - beyond my pay scale but even if I had the money I would pass. Sad MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Orkney Grey

After two years of Fl2 ownership, in which it has been the most reliable car I have owned, I have just ordered an 18my HSE in Firenze red. I hope it will be as reliable as my 15my FL2, which only had one snag which the dealer fixed quickly and gave me a DS HSE as a loan car.

I first drove a DS before general release and was impressed with it, only getting the FL2 as the DS was out of my price range and I wanted the new engine. My car at the time (Audi A4) had broken down on me on too many occasions, so I swapped it for the FL2, something I have thoroughly enjoyed in the time I have had it.

I look forward to delivery in September.

Gav.

Was in the nearest LR delaer on Saturday after ordering a pram for our soon to be here bundle of joy (dealers are almost next door) and was looking at the latest models. Always been a Discovery fan but as much as I want to still cant warm to the new one, of all the models in the showroom it was the Disco Sport that stood out to me (budget not withstanding) - thing is I still like the look of the Freelander2 more though and the picture from LR NUT above just confirmed this for me.
Not sure what I will do when comes time to replace the Freelander (not for a while yet I hope though, only had 6 months and enjoying it to much to chop it in)

Nooooooooooooo. Using the E designation on a poncy shopping wagon that will be PCP* -ed to the world and his dog is appalling . E should either be retired and left to be associated with the best looking car ever built , or put on high priced high horsepower supercars which are the spiritual succesor to that letter.

Having said that if the regulators get their finger out, perhaps it won't Rolling with laughter 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Chicken George - yes of course, doesn't everyone!
Standard sound system is more that adequate agreed, biggest issue (from what I gather) is that emissions of the new models are catastrophic!....

Hi,

My FL2 Metropolis is coming up to the end of its PCP and I'm toying with options. Top of the wish list is the DS HSE Dynamic, although not sure if it'll be out of my price range. However, I have a question about the new engines, and gearbox.

Firstly, my FL2 has the 2.2 SD4 which has 190bhp and 450Nm torque IIRC but the DS engine I'd probably be looking at is the TD4 180bhp which has 430Nm. For those that have gone from the Old FL2 SD4 to the new 180hp TD4 did you notice a reduction in drive/power? I know there's the 240hp Diesel but it's very pricey.

Also, I'm concerned that with the loss of HP and torque, as well as the extra 3 gears that it will be forever changing gear, especially with just the slightest hint of acceleration. Is this the case?

Any help appreciated.
