Wizard, you have been given top advice here but seem to choose not to take it. If you cannot be bothered to contact Austin as has been mentioned many times here already then there is nothing more anyone can do for you.

If you had a repair done that you consider to have been carried out badly or not fixed at all your first redress is with the repairer, if they refuse to do any more work on the vehicle and you want to go to the courts you will need to produce an independent engineers report to show you have a justified case.

Again all this has been told to you already, it's pointless just to keep asking the same question over and over, any responses on here by forum members wouldn't give a valid argument. Now why don't you start at the beginning and speak to Austin rather than continually chase your tail

for your information i emailed him this morning after i was given his name... as of yet no reply, and what is wrong with a straight forward question of yes or no which is what i have asked... why are you trying to complicate things??

OK, so you contacted Austin..... finally

You could have updated your original post to let people know so they don't have to waste time responding, that's what complicates things for you, I would also expect people to stop responding to your question on this too as you seem to lack any kind of acknowledgement or thanks to the information provided to you thus far.

Good luck with getting this sorted, something tells me you're going to need it

because 90% of the people on here may say that the haldex has a direct impact on the rear diff (as far im concerned its part of the transmission line components and from past experience front diff PTU/HALDEX/rear diff are linked and one can affect the other)

But most of aren't mechanics and probably all of us are no expert when it comes to haldex issues. We can all offer opinions which we have done. But Austen is the resident haldex/diff expert. He does however run a pretty much 1 man band business so answering emails may not be possible immediately. Try phoning.

he can give advice, he can possibly even do an report for you.

But (again from my past experience) you have to follow all the steps required before you can even begin to think about small claims action.

Have you been back to the garage that did the work ? have they been given adequate chance to repair the work if it was indeed the cause of the issue.?

Until they have been given a chance to rectify, I doubt any court will entertain your case.

if the car was bought on finance have you contacted the finance company as technically they are part responsible for the condition of the vehicle when you drove it off the forecourt and have a legal obligation?

thank you rogb, yes i understand the forum, this is why i posted in the technical area hoping there may have been a mechanic on board such as austen, i do understand the law from the New Consumer rights act 2015 section 24 sub section 5 to the Credit company acts under section 75 for breach of contract and the right to refuse for a full refund after the first attempt at repair has failed, i shall wait to see if austen replies,
again thank you robg

well whatever the problem is I wish you luck with it, been there myself with a Discovery gearbox issue a few years ago and more recently with an accident damaged 'LR Approved' Evoque.

Thankfully legal action was avoided both times but I had to battle a bit.

good luck Thumbs Up

Wizard....I had no end of similar problems with my FL2 but luckily for me it was a company car and I wasn't privy to the what are believe were less than harmonious discussions between the main dealer and the leasing company my employer use. It was in and out of the main dealers more times than a rabbit down a ferret hole (as they say in these parts) I no longer have the vehicle, just the lovely oil patches on my drive from the vent tube via the rear bumper casing. It is also the reason sadly why I didn't chose LR for my new vehicle.

Ps two alloys with tyres available ( any offers considered - I need the space) if anyone is looking for spare ( 17 inch Wrangler 235 65/R17). Lancs area

The Haldex vent on mine became blocked last year due, I think, to driving most days on forest tracks.
The car gave a warning 'Terrain Response Faulty, Special Programmes Off'.
It took several weeks before I found the fault and I continued driving the car during this time.
After cleaning the blockage, the fault cleared and the vehicle behaved normally afterwards with no further problems. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
