Have you thought about finding an local Indy before you go to the stealers? Might be a cheaper option. I'm sure someone will be along soon to suggest one near you. Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

Code has been red by a local landrover specialist and hes never seen that fault code before so is going to ask around other specalists, friends etc to see if they've heard of it. Only front wheel drive is working as tested it on the grass but no noises coming from the car whatsoever. He cleared the code and it came straight back up..

I thought that there was a golden rule: never sell a car to a friend or relative. You both have higher expectations of each other and it often ends in tears. I sold my car to a near relative a few years back and every time there was a problem he rand me up and I felt obliged to pay for it. #bigsoftie 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Galway girl, transmission fault traction reduced is the standard message when haldex is disabled for what ever reason, so putting a new pump in isn't the only possible fault.

I don't know what the codes were, the Land Rover assist tech came out & when he plugged in his diagnostic equipment, he said it was the haldex pump.

Hi, Thanks for everyones message i've just noticed people replied! Not sure what the code exactly was but he was certain (and all of his speclaist friends were too) that it wasn't the haldex but im no wizz on cars! Yes it did, loss of communication to the rear diff due to programming error and also other faults in the car saying it couldnt connect to other bits due to a programming error? He thought it was wriing or a simply fuse. No idea whih code reader he red, a small one but it did bring up all the faults. He didnt clear it - well every fault is still there. Its gone to Steve Hill Land Rover today as now its got a oil leak out the front, Paul looked and straight away said thats 2 leaks, ones the conditioning and the other looks to be some cooler and the seals often go? He may look at the transmission fault. The only noise the car makes is every so often it sounds like it has a wheel baring gong on the left hand side but it may just be the alterrain tyres i've been told! Hope it isn't a money pit or i'll resale her.. didn't pay alot as drove hours to pick her up. Full service history with 78k on the clock but then again she has been sat not doing much for the last 4 years. |

That code can mean a million things i've been told, its just a generic code for a transmission fault. The ECU had nothing to do with the haldex, solenoid or anything being a problem just it couldn't communicate due to programming error. Nothing physically came up as being wrong but its at the garage today so time will tell! |

It wasn't a friend or a relative really, it was a friend of a friend so i don't personally know the chap but we were passed onto him through a online advert etc. It was a good price and had low mileage, looked all over and it doesn't make a noise when driven. Didn't have any oil leaks or transmission faults as he showed us all under it and on the grass etc. Maybe he sold my a duff one but he did buy it for £13k 4 years ago from a main Land Rover Dealer. Fingers crossed. I always seem to have a habit of buying cars that go wrong as soon as i own them! |

When I bought mine, I reported to the dealer soon afterwards, that it too sounded like a nearside rear bearing rumbling sound! When I took it back into them, they allegedly checked over, & told me they had checked the bearings & they were ok, & that it was common to get a rumbling sound with the kind of tyres I had fitted( Pirrelli) At that time, I had no warning messages etc showing, so there was nothing obvious. However, since the haldex pump etc has been changed, its totally quiet now, so clearly not a wheel bearing or tyre noise! Hope you get it sorted soon without too much expense? Good luck |
