United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Orkney Grey

Thanks Galway Girl.
Thats strange, how did you know it had the problem without any lights? When i say it sounds like a wheel baring every so often, its so quiet its barely hearable so nothing obvious or would make me think theres something wrong. A mechanic said he couldnt hear anything but im sure i'll find out.
Fingers crossed, thank you! X Thumbs Up

UPDATE

The fault is still ongoing, had 3 specialist LR separate garages look at it now across Bath and Bristol. One was a so called specialist in these problems, said he thought it was the pump, but even so, can't fix it as he can't fit the part. Cost me over £300 and got no where now. Off to Bell Engineering tomorrow its a 1 1/2 drive but hes already been a great help, wish i took it there in the first place! - Fingers crossed! FL2 GS

Hi,

Yes Austen did fix her. She wasn't a easy job, entire inside of the module and pump completely corroded from salt water getting in. Needed a new ECU module, new pump and a new haldex housing as it was so corroded so badly and he also serviced the haldex. Looked as if shes been launching boats prior to me owning her.

Took a few days for her to work normally as had a few issues with her bumping around corners poss due to it not working for so long but after 3 weeks shes great (touches wood) been oup the farm testing the hill decent and all terrain and good as gold.

Massive thanks to Austen, without him i'd of been stuffed. FL2 GS

That is what we all find out, I drove from Belgium so that he could fettle my transmission / Haldex fault and unless we update our post to confirm a correct diagnosis and repair people could get the idea that Austen failed, but now (as we all have realized) we have another confirmation that he really is the drive train guru.....

Wow thanks guys (and girls Wink )!! Advice is always free, and I'd rather help you get a problem fixed even if it takes a bit longer rather than just trying to sell some bits to make a fast buck! www.bellengineering.co.uk

Your distance record was beaten last week I'm afraid Clive, I had a very nice couple from France come over for the weekend and their round trip was pretty epic Smile www.bellengineering.co.uk
