Just a quick hello from a new FL2 owner! Previously had Freelander 1`s (3) and have lost count of the number of Defenders but they are now silly money. Have to say I`m loving the luxury! Don`t think it will ever be as clean as it is now ever again!

Hello there. Had my Freelander 2 about three months now. And loving the smooth ride. Had a Freelander 1 a few years ago. And this beats it hands down.
Its the XS e model "although i always switch the eco button off" ha. Put some running boards on to add to the look. And onwards and upwards, as they say. The only thing i would like to add to it is the 2013 model Running lights "headlights"...mine is a 2010. My local Landrover dealer took a sharp intake of breathy. And said i would have to change the whole wiring loom. Surely, there is another way?? Thanks in advance.

I have been eyeing a FL2 for a while... and given that I now live in Kenya - I really badly want one.

However, given the incredibly high taxes (25% + 20% + 16% - all compounded), it would make sense to buy the oldest allowable (7 year old - which is 2010).

My debate is weather to buy a 2010 HSE or XS - is the difference worth it? The difference in duty is c£2,000 (£9,300 -vs- £7,300) - what do y'all think?

I've always wanted top of the range, so want an HSE, but is it worth the extra price PLUS the extra duty?

Anyway boys & girls, I sold my Tambora Flame TD4 HSE a couple of years ago, but missed it so much, I've bought another one, this time a Galway Green SD4 HSE, & already had too have the Haldex pump replaced! under warranty fortunately!

Just thought I'd introduce myself.. I have owned my Freelander 2 since December 2016, after my previous FL2 was written off. I had only had that FL2 for 3 months, so still relatively fresh to Freelander ownership. Although I have owned my '61 Series 2 SWB for over 10 years now.
So far just been on a few gentle green lanes with Furn (the FL2). Replaced the barely legal tires with a set of 235/60 r18 General Grabber AT3's. Living close to Manchester centre, lanes are relatively close by. But am
Looking to find other members in the manchester area to go out leaning with.

I'd like to introduce myself; a long-mer lurker on his and the D3 forum, and finally bought the bullet and bought a 2010 FL2TD4 HSE in Gallway Green, which is currently in Leeds and will shortly be exported to Kenya.

I previously owned a 2004 Discovery II, but my wife couldn't drive a manual so had sell it.

Looking forward to getting this puppy in June, and doing some "bundu (=bush) bashing"!

Looking forward to learning more about the car through other enthusiasts.

Hi Martin, thanks for the for the invite, ive just bought a f2 2010 hse 50000 miler,it runs really smooth ,and very impressed with the power and its delivery, it should pull my 2000kg caravan with ease,only one downside I can see at the moment is the lack of a proper spare wheel.hopefully I am able to find one on this forum,

I've just joined the forum as i'm picking up my Freelander 2 today .
Having been reading through the forum for the last couple of weeks to pick up useful information prior to handing over my hard earned cash, it seems awash with helpful people and useful information.

I previously had a Freelander 1, and before that an ex military 90 FFR so plenty of Landrover experience.

I bought it from a dealer non franchised,main dealers were really expensive, pershore car sales.the only problem I have with it is it has a silly inflation system.but they are getting me a proper spare
