I have to be honest bungholio, I agree wholeheartedly with much of your thoughts, as while I would have loved to go for a Discovery 4 the Freelander 2 makes so much more sense for me and my situation, plus I hope to have fewer problems and have a 2 yr approved LR warranty to boot if needed.

Must say being a ex Disco 3 owner now with a 62 plate Freelander 2 SD4 auto I do find myself looking at a Disco 4, but got to ask, do I need one? no! dont need the size now, but I am drawn to them very tempted!!!! |

I don't need all that space and that nice sound V6 now. Please lead us not into temptation!!No more looking at a Disco 4.

never had a d4,but we did have 3 d/3s must admit absolutely loved them,only faults were epb sqeaking(common)fixed by stealer who said at time"never had this before"!! lying toad.suspension bushes fitted to our last one 2008 when 2 years old clonking,whole lot replaced by stealer with no hassle(known fault due to using softer cheaper ones in that year)

That'll be as a result of a spun main bearing then! It's all swings and roundabouts though, D4's may have a small % of crank failures, but FL2's tend to have their more regular Haldex and rear diff issues. Neither of is get off too lightly! |
