Modern autos are great and once driven most people do not want to go back to a manual. For my the F2 is the more useful car but only you can decide which car you want - an often it is the domestic "authority" who decides which car you have! |

The Freelander 2 autobox is surprisingly good for a " last generation " technology. The 160 horse engine in our Freelander plus the box and it really makes for a pleasant, quite rapid drive , it's a very good pairing.

Disregarding fashion, when choosing a car, makes life so much easier! By definition, fashion dates. Quality functional design never dates ![]() |

I have a white FL2 that I have made monochrome by swapping badges, painting accessories etc of which I am quite proud |

On a slightly different tack, my teenage daughter used to complain about my wife's Peugeot ZX diesel saying that "it chugs". Funny though, as soon as she passed her driving test "Mum can I borrow your car?" 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I dont think a manual Evoque will hold its value as much as an auto - IMO I'd avoid and go for an auto if you really must have one. My wife really fancied an Evoque when they first came out. Went to have a look, opened the boot and said "where are my labradors going to sit". Now on our 3rd FL2 - all have been very reliable and happy to keep ours now for as long as possible. Jules |

Due to a lack of auto evoque in my budget and other criteria its looking the Freelander will be the one

So pretty much standard HSE spec then... it does gave heated steering wheel and Meridian 825w stereo with 17 speakers which is a deal breaker for me lol |

Yes boggo standard HSE! Heated wheel and the 825W meridian is also standard. Your first mod is getting a pair of xenons |
