Disregarding fashion, when choosing a car, makes life so much easier! By definition, fashion dates. Quality functional design never dates Thumbs Up

England 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Santorini Black

Well due to the lack of Evoque within LR inside my budget, Im trying to do the deal on a 2013/13 HSE Auto in Orkney Grey with 46k on the clock. Seems to be bog standard HSE Spec with rear spoiler and privacy but is in good condition.

Now if only the used car sales manager would answer/return my calls without me having to keep getting LRCS to call the head of business, I may be able to finalise the deal............

yes SD4.
Ive always had TD4 FL2 before but my Evoque is SD4 and the difference is incredible IMO, much more responsive on the motorway when overtaking and nippy on the B roads. I know the Evoque suspension and handling is different to the FL2 but that aside I wouldn't really want to back to a TD4 motor in the 2.2D

haaha nothing more, its just a turn of phrase Laughing , they had an HSE Lux next to it for another 2.5k more but for softer leather and rear camera over bog standard HSE... no chance

The 2010 HSE was the spec I had before the Ewok, it was the spec I always wanted so I didn't want to go back to anything less if I could help it and this 2013 has more than enough bells and whistles to keep me happy Very Happy

Well after 3 weeks with an ewok I can definitely say you have made the right choice as long as you can live with the fuel economy.
Just driven to Middlesborough with the van on the back. SD4 engine is great, 9 speed box is rubbish, got out and walked like a cripple
Steering is heavy and requires constant corrections, you feel every ripple in the road, tow ball is too low so the van sits nose down - I wonder is that what is causing the van to boss the car?
Fuel economy is difficult to fault
Freelander 29 solo 21 with van
Ewok 38 solo 26 with van Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

I loved the Ewok, but agree with what your saying although mine was 6 speed manual with 20" wheels so different to yours.
The ground clearance difference between the Ewok and the FL2 is negligible but the Ewok appears to sit lower.
I got the FL2 on Friday, drove 200 miles round trip with 3 other almost 6' tall people and it was great.
The tech package on the 2013 HSE is brilliant.
