you can use a normal relay, just change the feed and in and out around, will see if I can find my notes from when I did it on a maverick Common sense isn't very common.

Hi, I fitted a cool gadget to my disco 3 to control halo DRLs, it connected directly to battery via fused wire, wire to both DRLs, + and - and one wire to dip beam. It sensed car starting from battery drain powering up DRLs after bout 3 seconds and turned them off about 5 seconds after stopping engine. More importantly though it reduced power by 50% to DRLs when dipped beam on so as not to dazzle drivers (legal requirement I think). Wire to dipped beam though not sidelights - I can dig out link if still available if you're interested - cheers |

that sounds like a good system and easy to wire in. Common sense isn't very common.
