This was a third party garage ie. not the garage that I took the car to. At the time I didn't know that they didn't do the test themselves. They use them as an independent tester. There was no indication of any fault previously. I used them as they came recommended. They ordered and fitted the part straight away. |

I'm an MOT tester and that sounds like a load of old cobblers to me. What was the EXACT wording on the mot failure sheet? If you haven't been given one, pm me your registration number and I'll check it for you. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Just an advisory notice on the nearside rear tyre. Looks like the garage you took it to has had you over. I'd certainly have it out with them. I'd start by phoning the mot station first thing in the morning and ask them why the 'fail' hasn't been recorded. They then have two options: (a) get into serious trouble for not carrying out a test correctly or (b) confirm that there was no failure when they tested the vehicle. I'll guarantee it'll be option (b). Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Try using a local authority mot station, they only do tests. Therefore they have no vested interest in failing a vehicles.
