faulty abs?

Hi everybody. Just had my fl2 fail mot because of faulty abs sensor. Nothing showed on the dash when I took it in, but I was told that it only showed on the rolling road. I wasn't there for the test. Anybody else been in this situation?

No and my MOT is in the morning. Question is are you using a test station that test happily as a job or one that uses an MOT to find work. Examples of that would be a national franchises. If its the latter go elsewhere in future.

Did the warning lamp display on your pickup of the car after the MOT? If not, go down the road and brake hard several times and if nothing shows I suspect you have been had. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

This was a third party garage ie. not the garage that I took the car to. At the time I didn't know that they didn't do the test themselves. They use them as an independent tester. There was no indication of any fault previously. I used them as they came recommended. They ordered and fitted the part straight away.

I'm an MOT tester and that sounds like a load of old cobblers to me. What was the EXACT wording on the mot failure sheet? If you haven't been given one, pm me your registration number and I'll check it for you. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Just an advisory notice on the nearside rear tyre. Looks like the garage you took it to has had you over. I'd certainly have it out with them. I'd start by phoning the mot station first thing in the morning and ask them why the 'fail' hasn't been recorded. They then have two options: (a) get into serious trouble for not carrying out a test correctly or (b) confirm that there was no failure when they tested the vehicle. I'll guarantee it'll be option (b). Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Try using a local authority mot station, they only do tests. Therefore they have no vested interest in failing a vehicles.
All council run mot stations have to leave some free space in the week for the public. You won't get any discounted prices for the test, the full price is always charged but you will get an honest mot. Thumbs Up Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.
