True, and she has had a few reliability problems too. I did consider changing to a newer and different model but decided that maintenance issues would probably be even more costly. This one starts up first time whatever the weather and even brings me a cup of coffee in bed every morning so I can't complain. Thumbs Up 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I'm in need of a new boiler. My plumber has recommended an Intergas HRE combi boiler. Must admit I've never heard of them. He says they are indestructable. Looked them up on the internet and they get good reviews

I read a few of the last posts, then clicked the link to the Disco3 thread

and on the opening post read this

Quote:
Went downstairs this morning to find water dripping from the bottom of our boiler.

for some strange reason its associated itself with Dorsets post

New boilers are very high maintenance, they are considerably more fickle, it is simply not worth the input costs, due to high maintenance of these newer models! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Can't go wrong with a Worcester Bosch. Not the cheapest but the best. Thumbs Up

as above, great boilers.

Yes to magnetic filter, worth their weight in gold, and you will also require a power flush

I had a power flush in November when the system was upgraded. Should that be sufficient or will it need doing again if, say, I have a new boiler fitted in the next month or two? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Worcester Bosch have gone down the route of plastic valves and fittings, like much of the German dental kit we sell, fine until it goes wrong then nothing ever fits right or works correctly.
WB is a cheapened product with lots of glittery marketing, a little like new LR offerings Thumbs Up
