I seem to remember if it's the first mot then you don't get the calendar month, but could be wrong. |

I must admit, this is the first car that I can remember in a long time that has needed an MOT, normally get shut every three years.

my mx5 had it's first mot in September and it was done 3 weeks before it was due, and it covers the year plus the 3 weeks.

If I log a vehicle onto the system prior to starting the test and the current test has more than 1 month (or 30 days, can't remember which), the computer says something along the lines of "vehicle too early to allow any extra credit on new test expiry date". Pretty sure I've seen the same message when logging one on for its first test so yes, you can have them done up to a month early and not lose any time. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Recently had my first MOT (and passed) but oddly, when I had my three year service in November, the dealer didn't do the MOT as they had the car as first registered in February 2014 instead of the V5 date of November 2013.
