Power socket

On the centre console, the back power socket is faulty. Where would be the best place to purchase one.

Thanks for that. I've now found that the socket is not faulty, but I'm having problems trying to charge my Satnav.
Basically, my Satnav is charged via a USB lead. If I plug my mobile into the sockets, via a USB adaptor cigar type plug, it charges, as does my 12v tyre compressor. But if I try and charge my Satnav, it doesn't. However, if I plug the Satnav into my computer, it charges straight away, proving that the lead works okay. I don't know what to do, and I will be needing the Satnav early March.

Sounds like the adapter you are using is not giving enough or even too much power for your satnav
Do you have the LandRover USB port in the centre console? Does that work?
Have you tried a different adapter? I get the feeling that your satnav is voltage sensitive and until you provide the right juice level it is not accepting a charge - if it is charging OK off a computer then it is likely to be about 5V - you need to make sure your adapter is giving you enough oomph for the job No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

I have a TomTom that works sort of the same way. I don't know why. It will run via a 12v socket outlet in a car with the supplied car power lead, but not charge. Can only charge it indoors with the 240v charger adapter it came with. It's been like that from new. My Garmin before that would charge up whatever it was plugged into. Hardly use them nowadays though as our last two cars had inbuilt satnav and when I'm abroad I use the TomTom app on my iPhone.

Does yours power up and run from the 12v power socket? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
Evoque SD4 Dynamic Lux Auto
Present: Audi A3 S Line.

I have a Garmin SatNav that will only charge using the cigar lighter adapter and USB lead they supplied.

If I use a different lead or adapter, it automatically turns itself on but doesn't charge although it will charge with any lead from a computer.

I have a TomTom and it appears to charge only when connected but not switched on although when switched on it runs from the power supply, not the battery.

Some time ago I kept on getting low battery warnings and eventually it shut down as the battery was flat. It would charge when connected via a USB port or when directly connected to the car power socket, but when it was connected via the bracket thingy it sits on while in use it got no power and used the battery. It turned out to be a fault with the bracket thingy so I replaced it and that cured the problem.

There are a lot of things that can affect how devices charge through USB.

Type and capacity of charger/cable.

Requirements of device being charged, is screen on/off, apps/GPS running......

Thanks to you all for the advice. I'm going to check the charger etc today, and, if need be, will purchase the correct charging adaptor for my Tomtom Start 25.

Steve.

UPDATE:

After trying it again this morning, I went out and bought a Garmin adaptor that was advertised as suitable for Sat Navs. I tried it and at first, the adaptor lit up but the Sat Nav didn't switch on. Only when I pressed the adaptor in more firmly did it work. I then thought that perhaps I didn't press my other adaptor in firmly enough, so I tried it. It didn't work. Hopefully, this Garmin one will continue to work for many a day.
