It spun around as I remember several times so I thought it must be doing something. |

Do you have an original map disc or is it a copy?

It's the original disc supplied by Land Rover. |

I had this on my old 59 plate - purchased new disc and worked a treat. |

Error message also shows when loading the other genuine discs supplied with the car. Suspect an internal fault, possibly laser? Can anyone recommend a sat nav dvd drive repairer? Apparently these little boxes are apx £3500 new!!!! |

I'd try to clean the laser's lens with a cleaner kit first, the disc cleaner normally has some brushes stuck on and after some spinning hopefully it cleans the lens so the lase can read the disc again. If that still fails, see if you can open the unit and determine the DVD drive model number, you may be able to source and replace just the drive. |

Worst case you can take a replacement from another FL2, or also Jag XF, Jag XK, probably several Volvo models as well, possibly even a Disco3. Nobody in their right mind would buy a new one at that price. 2008 Freelander 2 HSE Si6 Black/Black - Hers
