I'd wait to see if the snake camera can locate it. Then add a blob of blu tac and retrieve it that way. Another option is to place a stethoscope at various locations on the heating pipework and tap with something, unless the ring is wedged solid (unlikely) it should rattle against the ducting enough to give a good idea as to which bit to dismantle. I got a mechanics stethoscope off of eBay for a couple of quid, very useful for diagnosing grumbly bearings etc. FL2 Metropolis, Loire Blue, ebony/ivory |

On a previous car (not an F2) I had an annoying rattle coming from the heating/vent system and whenever I turned sharply I also got a scraping noise. After a lot of faffing and poking around with bits of wire and blue tac I located a £1 coin and managed to get it to a position where I could just grasp it and extract it with some specialist surgical tweezers. Yippee! not only had I cured the rattle and scraping noise but I was £1 richer. But when I went to pick up the tweezers I fumbled them and they fell into the heating/vent system and defied all attempts to retrieve them. The result; another rattle and scraping noise and a bill for £15 to replace the tweezers.

My Mrs lost her wedding ring, not much more than a plain band style with 4ish tiny diamonds, the insurance co sent a cheque for 2.5 times what we paid.

Put blower at one end & to increase air flow put a vacuum at one of the outlets but not with an old bag! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
