If its fallen into the main body of the HVAC unit then it will be on the air off side of the evaporator.

Update: I've had a play with the snake camera in various vents and so far can see f@ck all. A friend has suggested that the ring may have made its way to the heater core?? Is this fairly easy to access and have a butchers in to see if the ring is there?? |

Did it actually go into the vent. Could it be on the floor of the car? Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Yeah it went in various vents, windscreen, centre ones, both side ones and only a little bit up the footwell vent. The camera is about 8mm in diameter. I have looked all over the floor in the car and also given it a good shake to listen for any rattles but getting no where fast.

Just get a couple of mates to help you roll the car on its back, the ring will then just drop out. If you have genuine roof bars it probably won't even scratch the roof much
